An outburst amongst cities across the nation has erupted and a Luddite-lead rebellion makes a stand against unjust business owners! Several bands of workers are opposing the new technologies being used and the increased industrialization beginning nationwide. These unhappy workers are working together to end this revolution starting in the industries. The Luddites have assembled numerous strikes and boycotts to send their obvious message: “Stop this Industrial Revolution!” This message is very strong and well-spread, but will it be heard by the business owners?!
This mutiny seems to be endlessly ongoing, as neither side of the uprising seems to give up. At this point it does seem, however, that the business owners have a better shot at victory in the long run, as they are doing a pretty good job in ignoring these cries! One business owner cries out, “Those selfish Luddites could care less about the lives of millions, all that’s important to them is that they get their money, and they get a lot of it!” Only few business owners have been rumored to give in, but for the most part, it’s not working!
The Industrial Revolution is bound to take place, and it is unstoppable from this point on. This nation will progress by any means necessary, forgetting the countless souls influenced by this insurrection.
That’s all the coverage I’m able to confirm right now, be sure to read the next edition of the Crompton Chronicles for more information on the upheaval!

DIRTY. GRUESOME. RAGE. HARSH. BRUTAL. These are strong words that describe the working conditions of industries. The world today compared to the past has changed drastically, due to the constructions and factories. The air we breathe was not as dirty as of right now. The work environments of the Industrial Revolution era made those work in hazardous conditions. Not only did they work for long hours, but there were also hired at a very young age. Children as young as the age of five were used to work in such conditions. The poor families could not afford to have proper equipment for their children, or even themselves! Punishments followed those who don’t have their work ethic where it is supposed to be. People were working together in the most frightening circumstances with the brutal conditions.
A local worker named Larry Maceren recently moved to the industrialized portions of London. “I brought my entire family with me, so I could live closer to my job at the cotton factory.” He has claimed that he lived near the rural areas, and he decided to move towards his job so he could travel less distances. “I work long hours every day, with barely a break in between, but if it’s for the welfare of my family, it’s worth it.” He said strongly. His family consists of his wife, Paula Datu Maceren, and small children, from the ages of five to twelve. “My kids, Zach, Michael, and AC… they live with an empty stomach most of the day. We’re lucky if we have big enough portions for everyone. Eventually, my small children will have to work with me at the factory soon to support ourselves." However, the combination of public outrage, political pressure and changes in the law eventually led to better and safer working conditions.

The increasing amount of factories inside of cities is creating many more job opportunities. This is a good thing, right? Well, not exactly. Unfortunately, while business is booming for entrepreneurs, the hard working laborers are left with exactly that. Hard work. While at the same time, many of these hard working employees are young children.
Today there was a report released by a friendly society group stating that thirty children have been stricken with illnesses caused by unsanitary workplaces. Families of the little ones and labor activists are petitioning to have factory sanitation increased.
The Gradgrind cotton making factory has been recently blamed for the illnesses of thirty children in the past two months. These children range from as young as five to fifteen years old. The illnesses are said to be caused from unsanitary and unhealthy working conditions at the factory. The families have all reached towards labor activists and friendly societies for an attempt to shutdown the factory.
Our news team has had the opportunity to speak to the owner of the factory, Thomas Gradrind: “The fact is, I am not responsible for the illnesses of any of these children. If the families blame the working conditions, then why are the children working here? If anything, I should be thanked for giving the children an opportunity to learn how a business works. This way, they [the children] won’t be wandering off, playing stupid games in the outside world. The world outside my factory. My company has thrived for several years now. And that's a fact! I will continue to run my factory the way I think it should be ran.”
The factory is still up and running as many of the attempts to shut it down have been denied. The conditions of the children have not been released yet, although many are still very ill. There have been talks about creating child labor laws and laws that will make sanitary working conditions mandatory. Let's just hope the Luddites don’t get involved in this one.
